OWNER: Artistic Director Intro
to Dance, Tap, Ballet, Pointe, Contemporary,
Jazz, Hip-Hop, & Adult Dance
Nicole Groll began her dance training at the age of 3 with Marie
Shaw’s School of Dance. By the age of six she began auditioning
for local theater and ballet companies, with whom she performed
numerous roles, including the Nutcracker.
Over the next few years she added more styles of dance to her
training and excelled quickly to the highest levels of classes.
By the time she was 11 she was invited to be on the dance
studio’s competition team. She performed in numerous shows
and competitions, and was able to study with master teachers
from all across the US. In 1996 she added vocal training with
Broadway’s Jonathan Reinhold, and began to pursue Musical
Theater as a career.
Majoring in Musical Theater and Dance at West Chester
University of PA she quickly became a favorite in the
departments and was cast in numerous plays and musicals as well
as being picked for solos in the dance department’s numerous
showcases throughout the year! She continued her studies at West
Chester University of PA, until the fall of 1999 when she
interviewed with her first major company: Disney. She was hired
in November to be a part of their Musical Theatre/Dance
Department and moved to Orlando, FL in January of 2000 where she
worked at MGM Studios.
After working in Orlando, Miss Nikki moved to Long Beach Island,
NJ, where she worked for Surflight Theatre, a professional
musical theatre company. During her internship with Surflight, Miss Nikki was hand-selected to dance at an AIDS
benefit held in New Jersey. In July of 2000 she moved to
Rehoboth to work for Rehoboth Summer Children’s Theater
as Snow White, where she traveled all over Delmarva performing
the show. She also traveled to NYC where she was working on
commercials and magazine prints. In November she was hired by MTV Productions
to be in the commercial for a movie they were preparing to
release, Save the Last Dance. Not long after the
commercial aired she stumbled upon a local job, choreographing
Fame for Cape Henlopen High School.
Miss Nikki has had the opportunity to perform in many shows such
as: Anything Goes, The Balcony, Brigadoon, Cinderella, A Funny
Thing Happen on the Way to the Forum, For Whom the Southern
Belle Tolls, Grease, Guys and Dolls, Hair, Little Women, Meet Me
in St Louis, The Nutcraker, Once Upon a Mattress, Peter Pan,
Pippin, Snow White, Titanic, West Side Story and The
Wizard of Oz.
Some of her choreography credits include:
Damn Yankees, Fame,
Footloose, Grease, Godspell, Hair, Nunsense, Once Upon A
Mattress, Pippin as well as many other children’s shows and
parades.
She continues to take classes to stay current in her field and
feels fortunate to have studied with some of the greats like
Frank Hachett, Mia Michaels, Brian Friedman, Wade Robinson, Suzi
Taylor and Joe Laterni!
Miss Nikki continues to give back to her students the type of
dance that makes them love entertaining as much as she does and
will continue to education her students in a friendly supportive
atmosphere where students of all ages can learn from her vast
knowledge of dance!

INSTRUCTOR: Jazz , Hip-Hop, Intro
to Dance, Yogalates, & Kickboxing
Miss Shon is originally from Perth, Australia where she began
her training at the age of two in ballet and jazz. She was then
enrolled into an elite dance academy focusing her studies on
jazz dance. At the age of eighteen she began her professional
career working for Steve Armstrong and the Flirtettes, Perth’s
number one cabaret show. While there not only was she one of
their top dancers she was also one of the choreographers as
well. At age twenty she and her sister began running their own
studio WA Stage School in Perth where she is still currently
working on their administrative team.
In 1998 Miss Shon had the opportunity to work overseas in
Kominato, Chiba, Japan as a dancer at a Five Star Resort Hotel
performing three shows a day seven days a week. Continuing her
career she returned to Perth working at top entertainment venues as a
dancer and choreographer for top traveling entertainers.
In 2003
she moved to the Caribbean to further her dance career working
in the entertainment department for various resorts.
Miss Shon has extensive training in both jazz and hip-hop.
Her
knowledge in dance and choreography will be a wonderful asset to
the students at Masters of Movement. Her love and enthusiasm
of dance will bring a new energy to the studio.

INSTRUCTOR: Hip-Hop, Intro
to Dance
Miss Dawn Monroe began dancing at Flossie Vogel’s Dance Factory,
at the age of 3. She studied Classical Ballet, Tap, Jazz and
eventually excelled in ballet moving to pointe and added Irish
tap to her training. At Flossie Vogel's, Miss Monroe had the
opportunity to perform at The Spring Music and Arts
Festival,1992-1996, Sesame Street Live, 1992 and Tremaine Dance
Conventions,1993-1996. At the age of 13 she moved her
training to Central Academy of Dance, Dover, DE until Masters of
Movement Dance Studio opened in Rehoboth in 2001.
While dancing at Masters of Movement she had the chance to take
master classes and perform at Six Flags Great America
Dance Fest in 2002 and 2003. During High School at Indian
River (1998-2002) she choreographed and performed in
Disney's
Melody of Songs as Belle from Beauty and the Beast, Belly Dancer
from Aladdin, Ensemble in Les Miserable, and ensemble in Rocky
Horror Picture Show. She also was active in the IRHS
Marching Band. Upon graduation of High School she moved to
Towson, MD where she went to college majoring in Dance.
In 2003 she interview and was accepted into
Disney's College Internship Program. Moving to Florida, she
continued her studies at Spotlight Dance Center, in
Orlando, where Joey Fatone frequented during his stint on
Dancing with the Stars. While training there she took
classes in Jazz, Hip Hop, and Lyrical. In 2005 she auditioned
and was cast on One Tree Hill all the while working at
Pleasure Island at Walt Disney World, Orlando FL.
Miss Monroe has missed the tranquility of Lewes Beach and is
thrilled to be back at Masters of Movement. Her students will
have the opportunity to study with a young, lively and energetic
teacher!


INSTRUCTOR: Adult and Teen Pilates
Suzanne has received her Pilates certification validated by The
PhysicalMind Institute in Vancouver, B.C. at the certifying
studio, Movement Space (now renamed The Space) with Marta
Hernandez in May and September 2005. She is certified in
Pilates mat classes (all levels) and also certified in Standing
Pilates (developed by Joan Breibart, founder of PhysicalMind
Institute). She has taught Beginner and Intermediate Pilates
mat instruction at the Sussex Family YMCA, Rehoboth, DE. from
6/2004-1/2008.
Suzanne has developed her appreciation towards health and
fitness while working at QVC Studios in West Chester, Pa. as
a model/fitness model from 1990-1995. She has worked with a
number of celebrity and professional sports trainers such as
Phil Tyne, personal trainer for the San Diego Chargers, Tony
Little (pre HSN), and Denise Austin, to name a few…during
those years in ’94 and ’95, at which time she pursued an
interest in nutrition and health foods. She is currently
working towards her nutrition certification through the
PhysicalMind Institute.

ASSISTANT TO THE
INSTRUCTORS: Intro to Dance Classes
Miss Nicole Sheppard began her dance training at the age
of eight at Masters of Movement during our first year of
business in 2001! Nicole has always worked hard as a dancer
and in 2004 was invited into our technique program.
She
has had the opportunity to take Master classes in
Philadelphia and New York, was part of our dance team that
represented the State of Delaware in Hollywood, CA in 2004 and
2006, and danced at sea with us in May 2008 on Royal Caribbean
Cruise Lines.
Nicole is now in our highest level of classes. She is
trained in all styles of dance, excelling in hip-hop,
contemporary and jazz.
Aside from dance, Nicole is an active member in
JROTC, is an
Honor Student at Cape Henlopen High School in her junior year,
enjoys drill team, photography and anything to do with helping
children! Nicole is excited to join Miss Nikki and Miss Shon
in the Introductory classes as an assistant. Her energy and
enthusiasm will be a magnet for our younger students.
